Letter from Lothar - December inSight
Welcome to our newest edition of inSight.
With Halloween and Thanksgiving finished, we are already fast approaching Christmas and the beginning of the New Year.
At Cargo iQ, we have had a very busy but very exiting year. We welcomed several new members - Hitit; Awery Aviation Software; Avianca Cargo, and LOT Polish Airlines - and began cooperating with several other industry organizations, such as the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association (FIATA), and Airport Services Association (ASA), who both hold observer seats in the Cargo iQ Board meetings. Additionally, we are exploring possibilities to cooperate with the Airport Council International (ACI), an endeavor that demonstrates how airports are involved and interested in the quality of air cargo. Our collaboration with the European Shippers Council (ESC) is very important for us, as this will provide direct feedback as to the requirements of the shipper’s community, which will help us in our future strategy.
Finally, I’d like to highlight our new involvement with Global Logistics Network (GLN), a successful association of some 60 forwarding companies. Whilst attending the most recent GLN symposium, I was met with serious interest from many of their SME forwarders. Our presentation received good feedback and our 30plus one-to-one meetings gave us the opportunity to introduce both our SME direct and successful SME indirect membership models to this community.
With the help of the Airforwarders Association (AfA), FIATA, and GLN respectively, we are in the process of starting a Proof of Concept to show that Cargo iQ is working for all airlines and forwarders, regardless of size.
Given that all our projects proceeded at a good pace, all audits went according to schedule, and our training sessions were well attended and received, we like to believe that the Cargo iQ organization has been very successful during the last year.
By having a new team member in Ursula and a brand new concept of membership engagement, as introduced during the recent membership meeting, I am confident that the organization and all our members are on track to improve even further.
Please take a few minutes out of your schedule to read the other interesting news from this letter. But let me close with my best personal wishes for you, your families, and your friends for a peaceful holiday period and an excellent start in the New Year – all the best.
